The coronavirus pandemic has shown us how strong we can be. It has also shown how resilient and compassionate mankind can be.
Despite the confusion, chaos, harm and even death COVID-19 has caused, it has also given us hope, heroes and lessons we will forever keep.
The pandemic has changed our lives, even the world, forever. When this is over, we will look at life and each other in a different light.
The crisis has made us realise what really is important – our family, security, health and quality time with loved ones.
These are things that we used to take for granted. Now, these are the things that we hold dear.
We are weeks into community lockdown and enhanced community quarantine.
Social distancing and staying at home are starting to feel like the norm, but not quite.
At this point, you should have adjusted and learned how to deal with the situation better.
We used to be in control of every aspect of our lives until COVID-19 happened.
It wasn’t a surprise when people rebelled and defied authorities especially when it comes to going out and doing what they want.
After all, we live in a free country. Suddenly, our freedom is taken away and we can’t do anything about it.
No work, no walks in the park, no eating out. We are confined to the four walls of our homes.
It has been a few weeks, but are you starting to let go of control and just let the authorities handle the situation?
Are you finally feeling more comfortable staying at home – working, watching Netflix, etc.?
It might be frustrating sometimes but being at home is where exactly you need to be.
You are safe with your loved ones, you have food on the table, you have a good internet connection and multiple options for entertainment.
Besides, there is nowhere else to go because everything is closed. No bars and no restaurants for now.
When we talk about harmful materials, we aren’t just talking about food and drinks – we are also talking about news and social media.
The enhanced community quarantine has forced us to take only what we need and downsize to basic necessities.
Have you finally stopped reading fake news and exaggerated information? Have you stopped sharing them on your social media accounts?
That means the crisis has helped you mature, and you are now aware of what is helpful and what is not.
However, as mentioned earlier, have you stopped buying junk food and soft drinks? This may not be your choice because your options are limited now.
You can only buy what is available. And right now, meat, vegetables, and fruit are more available than the usual junk food.
If you are trying to eat healthy, congratulations! You have made the right decision.
Eating healthy is one of the best ways to protect your health from the deadly virus.
Just because we are forced to stay at home does not mean we stop taking care of ourselves.
Eat healthy, exercise, read and do things that will keep your body and mind healthy.
Setting a schedule or a routine to make use of your time wisely is a good strategy. Being stuck at home, you will be tempted to sleep in and watch TV all day.
It is better to keep yourself productive and active despite being in lockdown.
If you are working at home, you may find that having a program is helpful. Being at home makes you complacent and lazy sometimes.
Oversleeping and procrastinating are your main enemies. Most people find it harder to finish work at home than in the office.
There are so many distractions at home – family especially kids, TV and movies, the internet, mobile games, household chores, among others.
Set a schedule and stick to it. Remember to remain productive and keep your mind active.
At this point, we should be able to see what our government, our families, friends, neighbours, businesses and everyone around us are doing to deal with this extremely complicated situation.
Acknowledge other people’s efforts and do the best you can to show your gratitude by following quarantine rules. Stay safe and do your part.
You should realise by now that no one has any other agenda except the early eradication of the virus and lifting of the community quarantine.
We all want to go back to our old lives and forget this nightmare even happened.
For that to happen, you need to cooperate with the authorities, respect others and help as much as you can. Stay at home and do your best given the circumstances.
Whether it is an opportunity to learn a new skill, an opportunity to earn online, an opportunity to help, always keep yourself open to opportunities.
Turn this crisis into a blessing. It is always a good time to look for new opportunities. It is better than not doing anything at all.
Being productive during these times is the past way to kill time. Just because you are stuck at home does not mean you have to be stuck doing nothing at all.
Learn, create, sell, and be creative. Take advantage of the internet today. The world is within your reach. A new opportunity is just a click away!
COVID-19 has brought us to a complete standstill. However, do not let that keep you from learning and growing from this experience.
This is the perfect opportunity to better ourselves. Take time to reflect, find ways to grow, personally and creatively.
Has there ever been a time where we have been forced to stay home and do nothing?
Although we sincerely hope that a crisis of this magnitude never happens again, we might as well take advantage of the time to learn and grow.
Do not let COVID-19 win, have fun, learn something new, take advantage of opportunities, grow and be safe.
So, who do you choose to be during COVID-19? If you are a business owner, in particular, you need to learn and grow and adapt today or risk losing your business.
